Rami Malek
Rami Said Malek, born on May 12, 1981, is a distinguished American actor celebrated for his versatile performances. He gained widespread recognition for his role as Elliot Alderson, a troubled computer hacker, in the critically acclaimed USA Network series Mr. Robot, which aired from 2015 to 2019. His portrayal earned him the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Malek further solidified his status in Hollywood by embodying the legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody (2018). This performance garnered him multiple awards, including the prestigious Academy Award for Best Actor, making him the first actor of Egyptian descent to achieve this honor. In 2019, Time magazine recognized him as one of the 100 most influential people worldwide.
Hailing from Torrance, California, and the son of Egyptian immigrants, Malek pursued his passion for acting through theater studies before making his mark on New York City stages. He initially appeared in supporting roles across various film and television projects, including the Fox sitcom The War at Home (2005–2007), the HBO miniseries The Pacific (2010), and the Night at the Museum trilogy (2006–2014).
