Henri Vidal
Henri Vidal (November 26, 1919 – December 10, 1959) was a distinguished French actor celebrated for his impactful contributions to cinema during the 1940s and 1950s. Born Henri Lucien Raymond Vidal, his rise to fame began when he secured the title of "Apollo of 1939" in Paris, catching the attention of renowned singer Édith Piaf. This pivotal moment led to his film debut in the 1941 production Montmartre-sur-Seine, marking the start of a prolific career in which he starred in over 30 films until his untimely passing in 1959.
Throughout his career, Vidal shared the screen with some of the most iconic actresses of his time, including the likes of Françoise Arnoul, Brigitte Bardot, Dany Carrel, Mylène Demongeot, Sophia Loren, Romy Schneider, and Marina Vlady. His notable works include roles in memorable films such as Fabiola (1949), where he met his second wife, the acclaimed actress Michèle Morgan, whom he married in 1950 after a brief earlier marriage to Michèle Cordoba.
Despite his promising trajectory, Vidal's life was cut short by a heart attack at the age of 40. He was laid to rest in Pontgibaud, located in the Puy-de-Dôme department of France, leaving behind a legacy of cinematic achievements and unforgettable performances.
