Heidi Baker

Heidi Gayle Baker, born on August 29, 1959, is a prominent Christian missionary, dynamic speaker, and the CEO of Iris Global, a humanitarian organization dedicated to Christian outreach. She has authored multiple books that delve into themes of Christian spirituality and faith.

In 1979, Heidi encountered Rolland Baker, who was the grandson of renowned missionary H. A. Baker. Their romance blossomed quickly, leading to marriage just six months later in 1980. Shortly after tying the knot, they embarked on their missionary journey, being ordained as ministers in 1985.

The Bakers established Iris Global in 1980, a non-profit ministry committed to charitable acts and evangelism, with a special focus on underserved populations in developing countries. In 1995, seeking to make a significant impact, they relocated to Mozambique to launch a new initiative that provided care for orphaned and abandoned children.

Through their efforts, Iris Global successfully negotiated with the Mozambican government to take over the financial and administrative management of a former state-run orphanage located in Chihango, near Maputo, which housed approximately 80 children. Under Heidi's leadership, Iris Global has continued to expand its reach, providing vital support and hope to countless individuals in need around the world.
