Reni Santoni (April 21, 1939 – August 1, 2020) was a celebrated American actor known for his diverse roles in film, television, and voice acting. Born in New York City to a family of French and Spanish heritage, Santoni embarked on his artistic journey in off-Broadway theater, honing his craft before transitioning to film.

His career took off with an uncredited role in the 1964 classic The Pawnbroker, where he portrayed a junkie attempting to sell a radio. However, it was his performance in Carl Reiner's Enter Laughing that marked his first leading role, showcasing his comedic talent. Santoni gained further acclaim for his portrayal of Inspector "Chico" González in the iconic 1971 film Dirty Harry, and later as Ramon Herrera in the 1983 drama Bad Boys. His portrayal of detective Tony Gonzales in the 1986 action film Cobra solidified his status as a versatile actor.

In addition to his film work, Santoni made numerous guest appearances on popular television series, including Barnaby Jones, Lou Grant, and Hill Street Blues. He played a notable role as a junior partner in the legal drama Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law, sharing a birth week with co-star Lee Majors.

Santoni's career continued well into the 21st century, featuring memorable roles such as "Poppie," the unhygienic restaurateur on the sitcom Seinfeld, and "Captain Carlos Rodríguez" in Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid.
