Alex Langlands is a prominent British archaeologist and historian, widely recognized for his engaging presentations on educational documentary series in the UK. With a strong academic background, he holds degrees in medieval archaeology and world archaeology from University College London, and he earned his MPhil/PhD focusing on early medieval history and archaeology from the University of Winchester in 2013.

Langlands has showcased his expertise through various acclaimed television series, including "Victorian Farm," "Edwardian Farm," and "Wartime Farm," along with the 2005 program "Tales from the Green Valley." His involvement with the Channel 4 series "Time Team," which he joined in 2011, further solidified his reputation in the field. That same year, he edited a condensed edition of Henry Stephens's "Book of the Farm," which served as a historical resource for "Victorian Farm."

In addition to his television work, Langlands participated as a contestant on BBC's "The Great Sport Relief Bake Off" in 2012. He served as a Lecturer at the University of Winchester from October 2013 until August 2015, before moving to Swansea University as a Lecturer in the Department of History and Classics in 2015. In 2016, he collaborated with historian Annie Gray to co-present the BBC Two series "Victorian Bakers," further highlighting his passion for historical culinary practices.
