Fredrik Skavlan

Fredrik Skavlan, born on September 2, 1966, is a prominent Norwegian journalist, cartoonist, and television personality. He gained widespread recognition as the host of "Først & sist" (First & Last), which aired from 1998 to 2007 and became Norway's most viewed talk show, drawing in over one million viewers each Friday night. His exceptional hosting skills earned him the Norwegian Television Award for Best Host in 1999.

After a hiatus from Norwegian public broadcaster NRK, Skavlan transitioned to Sweden, where he launched his eponymous talk show "Skavlan" in spring 2009 on SVT. This marked a significant milestone as he became the first Norwegian to win the Swedish Television Award for Best Television Host. By autumn 2009, "Skavlan" began airing simultaneously on both NRK and SVT, and in 2013, it expanded its reach to Denmark through DR2, receiving positive acclaim from Danish audiences.

Before his television career, Skavlan made his mark as a journalist and cartoonist for various Norwegian newspapers, such as Morgenbladet and Dagbladet. He has also contributed his artistic talents to literature, illustrating several books, including Unni Lindell's children's title, "Nifse Nella og nattskolen" (Spooky Stella and the Night School), published in 2008. Skavlan continues to be an influential figure in Scandinavian media.
