Renowned for his unique blend of musical styles, Jonasz is celebrated for his timeless hits such as "La boîte de jazz," "Joueurs de blues," and "Les vacances au bord de la mer."

Growing up in a family of Hungarian immigrants, Jonasz left formal education at the age of 15 to pursue his passion for the arts. Initially drawn to painting and theatre, he ultimately found his calling in music, starting his career as a pianist. In 1966, he co-founded the band King Set with guitarist Alain Goldstein, marking the beginning of his musical journey.

Jonasz gained recognition in the late 1960s with the release of his original songs, including "Apesanteur" in 1967 and the popular "Jezebel" in 1968, which showcased his vocal talent and rhythmic prowess. His solo career took off gradually, initially releasing a single under the name Michel Kingset in late 1968, followed by his first track under his own name in 1970.

It was not until 1974 that Jonasz achieved widespread acclaim with two major hits, "Dites-Moi" and "Super Nana," which solidified his place in the French music scene.
