Desiderio Sanzi

Desiderio Sanzi is an Italian director, writer, and multidisciplinary artist whose work fuses cinema, music, and performance into immersive, emotionally resonant experiences. Rooted in electronic music production, theater direction, and visual arts, he brings a rare cross-disciplinary lens to filmmaking.

His films often explore the tension between intimacy and spectacle, blending neorealist traditions with striking visual compositions and experimental sound design. In 2023, his short film *Mirtillo – Numerus IX* earned international acclaim, collecting numerous awards and screening at festivals around the world.

Sanzi’s latest project, *Mirtillo*, represents a significant step forward in his career: an 80-minute feature film distributed through Filmhub, slated for a global release in 2025. He also created *Cuba – Coocuyo Remix*, a neorealist documentary capturing the island’s underground electronic music scene.

Driven by a poetic yet visceral cinematic vision, Sanzi continues to produce work that challenges conventions and connects contemporary audiences with daring, original storytelling.
