Plot

Ten-year-old Ken McLaughlin struggles with school and faces the disappointment of his father, Rob, who believes Ken needs to learn responsibility. To encourage his son, Rob, with support from his wife Nell, gives Ken the chance to select a colt from their Wyoming ranch. Ken’s choice—a spirited mustang filly—surprises Rob. Despite initial concerns, the bond between the boy and the horse flourishes, teaching Ken valuable lessons about friendship and accountability as they embark on adventures together in the vast, untamed landscape.
