Paula, Beatriz, Giu, and Fernando navigate life in one of São Paulo's poorest favelas, battling both societal marginalization and the urgent need for survival. In Brazil, where transgender individuals face the highest murder rates globally, their quest for bodily autonomy is both a radical act and a perilous journey. One character, embracing his transition, poignantly reflects in his diary, “Each hormone pill is a declaration of ownership of my body.” The film poignantly captures their daily struggles, protests, and the oppressive force of transphobia, shedding light on their resilience and fight for acceptance.
