Plot
Sandy Doyle, a cunning gambler and the political leader of a small border town, aims to seize control of the Bar-X Ranch from Rufe Rickson to facilitate his covert schemes. He plans to exploit Rickson's gambling addiction to achieve his goals. Meanwhile, government investigator Oliver Shea and his aide, Dan Haggerty, intervene when they witness Rickson being cheated, leading them to the Bar-X. There, Oliver and Rufe's daughter, Helen, spark a romantic connection, while Dan finds himself in the sights of Bell, the ranch cook. Chaos ensues when the prize money for a major rodeo race is mysteriously stolen that night.
