Plot
Spring 2011 in Damascus marks a turbulent time as civil war looms. Nahla, a 25-year-old woman, grapples with her yearning for independence amid the pressure of an arranged marriage to Samir, a Syrian expatriate in the U.S. However, when Samir opts for her submissive younger sister Myriam instead, Nahla seeks solace in the enigmatic presence of her neighbor, Ms. Jiji. As tensions rise around her, Nahla's journey of self-discovery and resilience unfolds against a backdrop of political unrest and personal upheaval.
