Guantanamero (2007)

Plot

Ali washes ashore on a desolate Cuban beach after a fierce storm, disoriented and ill. Fearing pursuit, he must stay hidden. Local Ivan brings him to his sister Manuela's apartment in Havana. Initially hesitant, Manuela is intrigued by the troubled stranger and offers him shelter. As Ali grapples with disturbing nightmares, he confronts the trauma of his time in Guantanamo, blurring the lines between memory and imagination. His unsettling visions intertwine his past and present, leaving him—and Manuela—questioning whether they are echoes of reality or mere manifestations of a fractured psyche.
