The Baker's Wife (1938)
Plot
A small village in Provence welcomes a new baker, Aimable, whose youthfully beautiful wife, Aurelie, abruptly leaves him for a shepherd after his first day of baking. Stricken with despair, Aimable is unable to fulfill his baking duties. The townsfolk, once amused by his predicament, soon grow concerned over their dwindling bread supply. Taking matters into their own hands, they devise a plan to track down Aurelie and persuade her to return to her husband and the bakery, determined to restore both Aimable's happiness and their daily bread.
