The River Used to Be a Man (2012)

Plot

A young German sets off on a journey through Botswana, where he encounters an elderly fisherman who guides him into the heart of the wilderness aboard a wooden boat. The following morning, he awakens alone in an expansive river delta. As he navigates this unfamiliar terrain for days, he eventually stumbles upon a remote village, far removed from civilization. Yet, his adventure becomes increasingly disorienting as he grapples with the complexities of an alien culture, leaving him feeling more lost and out of control in this vast, untamed landscape.
