Casting a Glance pays homage to the renowned American artist Robert Smithson. The documentary chronicles 16 visits to the Spiral Jetty, made between May 15, 2005, and January 14, 2007. This iconic artwork, completed in 1970, stretches 1,500 feet into Utah's Great Salt Lake, crafted from a mix of rocks, earth, salt, and red algae.
