Plot
In a secluded Karelia village, Sergeant Vaskov leads an anti-aircraft unit tasked with safeguarding a rail depot. After his soldiers are sent to the front, he faces criticism for their misconduct. Vaskov insists he needs replacements who aren’t alcoholics or womanizers. To his surprise, he is given a new unit composed entirely of young women, just out of training.
