Tibo, a nurse on a palliative care unit, grapples with profound boredom and an obsession with money, often distracting himself by betting on the last breaths of his patients. His mundane routine takes a turn when colleague Anouk requests a significant favor: to accompany the lonely patient Frans Claeskens, who faces euthanasia that day. Known for his racist and perverted behavior, Frans poses a daunting challenge for Tibo. As he spends the day with this controversial figure, Tibo confronts his own moral dilemmas and the complexities of compassion.
