White Wolf (1990)

Plot

A gray wolf raised on a farm kills the family dog, prompting a boy named Lasset to embark on a journey through the wilderness with the wolf to a sanctuary 300 miles north, hoping to save it from destruction. The film features a soundtrack solely composed of Dvorak's Serenade for Strings, making it a unique anime experience reminiscent of Gauche the Cellist. While the storyline is simple and predictable, the film's genuine atmosphere and emotional depth, enhanced by the strings' poignant melodies, create a heartfelt portrayal of the bond between a boy and his wolf.
