Plot

Susan Miller, a department store girdle clerk, longs for the elegance of a glamorous life. Her mundane dreams take a turn when con artists May Worthington and Warren sweep her into their scheme, posing as family members of a charming girl. They whisk Susan away to Palm Beach, where she encounters John Wheeler, whom they mistake for a millionaire. After duping him out of $15,000 for a stolen sailboat, the trio infiltrates the affluent Fenwick family. As Susan, alias "Linda Worthington," finds herself in a romantic entanglement, John reappears, bringing trouble that threatens their elaborate ruse.
