Dark Blood (2012)

Plot

Set against the desolate backdrop of a nuclear testing site, Dark Blood follows Boy, a young widower who awaits the apocalypse while crafting Katchina dolls believed to possess mystical abilities. His isolated existence takes a turn when a glamorous Hollywood couple, stranded in the desert after their car breaks down, crosses his path. Boy rescues them, but his longing for the woman leads him to imprison them, driven by a twisted vision of building a new world alongside her. Filmed in 1993 but left unfinished after River Phoenix's untimely death, this haunting narrative explores themes of loneliness and obsession.
