Plot

A unique blend of religious allegory and theatrical presentation, the story unfolds as a woman faces a celestial trial after dying in childbirth outside of marriage. The eerie jailer dons a death's head mask and nun's garb adorned with ominous symbols, while God presides over the proceedings, flanked by angels. The devil seeks to condemn her for her transgressions. Shot with a handheld camera that lends an unsettling dynamism, the film juxtaposes vivid flashbacks of the woman's life against its surreal, ritualistic imagery.
