In Our Time (1944)

Plot

Set in early 1939 Poland, Mrs. Bromley and her daughter Jennifer visit to source antiques for their London shop. During their stay, Jennifer encounters Count Stephen, leading to romantic outings filled with charm and adventure. Despite his family's disapproval of her modest background, Stephen's affection for Jennifer prompts an impulsive marriage at the train station when she attempts to depart. Determined to support their future, they modernize the family farm with new equipment to boost production. However, their plans are soon overshadowed by the onset of war as Germany invades.
