Plot

As the year 2000 nears in Jerusalem's Orthodox Mea Shearim quarter, women fulfill traditional roles while men focus on religious studies. Rivka, deeply in love with her husband Meir, faces turmoil over their childlessness, as Meir's father, the rabbi, pressures for a divorce, declaring, "a barren woman is no woman." Meanwhile, Rivka's sister Malka longs for Yakov, a secular Jew ostracized by the yeshiva. Against the backdrop of arranged marriages and strict customs, the sisters must navigate their true desires and seek paths that defy patriarchal constraints.
