Plot

Nelu, a middle-aged security guard in the small Romanian town of Salonta, encounters a Turkish man attempting to cross the border into Hungary. Their inability to communicate verbally doesn’t hinder an unspoken bond; Nelu shelters the man in his farmhouse, providing food and dry clothes. Unsure of how to assist further, the Turkish man offers his last funds in exchange for passage to the West. Moved by the encounter, Nelu accepts the money and promises to help him cross the border the next day—Morgen. This unexpected connection challenges Nelu’s understanding of empathy and duty.
