Plot

Set in the years immediately following World War II, a lively ten-year-old named Eda and his friend Tonda navigate life in a quaint village near Prague. Their unruly classroom drives their teacher to resign, leading to the arrival of the no-nonsense Igor Hnidzo. Though harsh and disciplined, Hnidzo proves to be a just instructor. However, his personal flaw emerges as he becomes increasingly distracted by his attraction to young women, adding a layer of complexity to his character and their school experience.
