Gionatan with a G (2016)

Plot

Nine-year-old Gionatan possesses the wisdom of someone much older. While waiting in an emergency room for his mother, who is being treated for facial injuries, he clutches candy and hatches a reckless escape plan. He ventures into the vibrant yet troubled neighborhood of Ponte di Nona in Rome. There, he encounters Secco, a lackadaisical criminal, and convinces him to join in a misguided mission, claiming he witnessed men attacking his younger brother. Their journey unfolds against the backdrop of contrasting colors and underlying tension in the suburb.
