Fuzzy Settles Down (1944)

Plot

Billy Carson and Fuzzy Jones have just claimed a reward, prompting Fuzzy to dream of a quieter life. Arriving in Red Rock, they find the local newspaper facing foreclosure, and despite Lafe Barlow’s intimidation tactics, Fuzzy unexpectedly becomes its owner. He quickly meets Edith Martin, the former owner’s daughter, and promises to continue her father's mission of establishing a telegraph line. However, Barlow opposes the project and unleashes terror on the townsfolk. Initially indifferent, Billy eventually steps up to support Fuzzy and the community against Barlow's thugs.
