Plot

A music-hall dancer's shocking murder leaves a moss rose marking a Bible page beside her body. Another chorus girl, having witnessed a man exiting the scene, confronts him, threatening to go to the police if he doesn’t comply with her demands. Initially dismissive, he soon realizes she means business and offers her a bribe of cash. However, her motives are not monetary; she seeks a two-week escape at his country estate, yearning for the glamorous life of a lady instead. The tension between them escalates as she navigates a dangerous game of deception and desire.
