Screaming in High Heels: The Rise & Fall of the Scream Queen Era

Three aspiring models in 1980s Los Angeles found unexpected stardom as B-movie actresses during the booming direct-to-video horror scene. Known as "The Terrifying Trio," Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, and Michelle Bauer starred in a slew of campy cult classics like Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-a-Rama and Nightmare Sisters, battling everything from rubber monsters to teenage boys. Their fame soared as they toured the globe, even meeting President Reagan, while building a franchise of trading cards and comic books. Ultimately, their whirlwind success faced a sudden decline, but this documentary celebrates their savvy approach to the genre.
