Plot

Zurich, 1519, finds young widow Anna Reinhart grappling with fears of the church and the future of her three children. The arrival of Ulrich Zwingli, a bold new priest at the Grossmünster, ignites passionate debates with his sermons challenging the Catholic Church’s abuses. Initially intimidated by his revolutionary views, Anna’s perception shifts as she witnesses Zwingli embodying charity in action. However, his growing influence soon stirs unrest, nearly igniting a civil war. As political tensions rise and external threats emerge, Anna and Zwingli's relationship faces its toughest challenges yet.
