Plot
Eve, a spirited nine-year-old with a vivid imagination, navigates life in a traditional Chinese immigrant family in Vancouver, surrounded by Confucian values, superstitions, and mystical experiences. As Buddhism and Catholicism intertwine with their upbringing, Eve and her 11-year-old sister, Karena, who is strict and proper, find themselves in a whirlwind of chaos, sanctity, and cultural disarray. Together, the sisters embark on a journey of growing up, facing the loneliness of childhood while discovering the enchantment that life has to offer.
