Plot

Martin Rome, a wounded petty criminal and cop-killer, finds himself confined in a hospital prison ward, where he battles both his injuries and moral dilemmas. Despite pressure from the unscrupulous lawyer Niles, who hopes to exonerate his client through Martin's confession, Rome remains unyielding. Police Lieutenant Candella, a family friend of the Roms, faces a delicate balancing act between loyalty and duty. As Martin fears for the safety of his girlfriend, Teena, he becomes desperate, risking everything to shield her. The question looms: how far will he go, and how many will suffer in his wake?
