Plot
Andreas, a young boy of uncertain age, arrives in a secluded valley nestled in the Austrian Alps. Growing up to be a dedicated farmhand, he eventually joins a crew constructing one of the first mountain railroads, ushering in modernity with electricity and commotion. Along the way, he falls deeply in love with Marie, though their bliss is fleeting. Decades later, as Andreas reflects on his life during a poignant final journey, he is reunited with Marie, prompting a profound contemplation of the years that have shaped his existence.
