Plot

John L. Sullivan, a prosperous director, believes that genuine hardship is essential for creating his grand cinematic vision. To experience it, he disguises himself as a hobo and embarks on a quest to encounter real struggles. However, his journey quickly derails, leading him back to Hollywood, accompanied by an enchanting blonde. Undeterred, Sullivan plunges deeper into chaos, ultimately losing his memory and finding himself trapped in a chain gang, far from the artistic enlightenment he sought. As he grapples with his unexpected fate, Sullivan discovers the true nature of adversity.
