Plot
Set in 19th-century Louisiana, Belizaire serves as the voice for the Cajun community, facing off against local racists intent on driving them out. His life becomes even more complicated when he discovers that his ex-girlfriend is now wed to his fiercest enemy, the son of a wealthy landowner. As tensions rise, Belizaire finds himself ensnared in a tumultuous mix of deceit, violence, and deep-seated discrimination.
