Plot

Phuong Ly, a beautiful Vietnamese woman from a humble background, experiences a fairytale romance with a charming, affluent suitor. However, their happiness is shattered when his mother intervenes to destroy their relationship. Heartbroken, Phuong Ly moves to Ho Chi Minh City, where she finds work at a marriage agency. There, she attracts the attention of Mitch, who persuades her to marry him with promises of a better life and support for her family. Upon arriving in America, she discovers the grim truth of her situation as a slave. Amidst the darkness, she forms a poignant connection with her captor's autistic niece, both yearning for freedom.
