Plot

As autumn settles in, Dr. Headley confidently showcases a groundbreaking tuberculosis treatment. Meanwhile, nearby, young Winifred battles the illness, leaving her mother and little sister Trixie heartbroken. Trixie overhears the doctor ominously remark that Winifred will die "when the last leaf falls." Misunderstanding this statement, Trixie becomes determined to save her sister's life by any means necessary. Her innocent yet desperate quest unfolds against the backdrop of nature’s changing seasons, highlighting the bond of family and the innocence of childhood amid illness and loss.
