Squirrels (2018)

Plot

Three aspiring artists navigate the challenges of love and ambition in New York City while sharing a cramped studio apartment. Among them are a trans opera singer and DJ, a Middle Eastern American performance artist, and a gay filmmaker. They hustle to make ends meet, resorting to various schemes to keep afloat in the city's demanding landscape. Yet, in an era defined by precarious living and gig economies, their dreams of success teeter on the brink, reminding them that they are just one misstep away from losing it all.
