Plot

TJ, a troubled man, finds himself estranged from his 13-year-old son, Bullet, who is heading down a similar path. After being rejected by his mother, TJ embarks on a cross-country journey to the Kimberly region of northwestern Australia in hopes of reconciling with Bullet. Meanwhile, Grandpa Tex, a seasoned cop in the outback town of Five Rivers, strives to make a positive impact on the men in his community. "Mad Bastards" poignantly explores the challenges of manhood and personal growth across three generations, drawing on Indigenous storytelling traditions and featuring the music of the renowned Pigram Brothers.
