Love God (1999)

Plot

In 1996 Manhattan, mental hospitals are forced to reduce their patient populations, leading LaRue (Will Keenan) to the streets with his peculiar "chronic reading syndrome." He finds himself at the Love Hotel, a refuge for many former patients, where he develops feelings for a mute girl oppressed by her controlling mother. Complicating matters, LaRue is paired with a roommate suffering from Tourette's syndrome, all while being pursued by an ancient worm that invades bodies and transforms its hosts. The chaotic blend of romance and surreal challenges creates a unique narrative.
