Cheng-chung Wang, an award-winning Taiwanese educator, embarks on a transformative journey after graduating from National Kaohsiung Normal University. Assigned to a resource-poor school in rural Zhongliao, Nantou County, he deeply connects with his students. Just as he plans to leave at the end of his term, the catastrophic 921 earthquake strikes, shattering the community. Witnessing his students' despair and longing for stability, Wang makes the pivotal choice to remain, dedicating himself to uplifting their education and fostering resilience amidst adversity.
