Plot
In 1701, a bitter rivalry ignites between Lord Takuminokami Asano and Lord Kira, culminating in an assassination attempt within the Shogun's palace. As a result, Lord Asano is condemned to commit seppuku, losing his lands and title while Kira escapes punishment. Left without a master, Asano's loyal samurai become ronin, fueled by a desire for vengeance. Their leader, Kuranosuke Oishi, pleads with the Shogun to restore the Asano clan but is denied. A year later, Oishi and his band of forty-six ronin embark on a daring quest for retribution against Kira's treachery.
