Tantra and Tantri share a deep bond, often engaging in secretive adventures like stealing eggs from their family’s ritual offerings. Tantri receives the whites while Tantra takes the yolks, but when Tantra goes missing and her brother falls gravely ill, Tantri begins to traverse enchanting parallel worlds through dance, costumes, and body paint. As her mother washes away the paint, it symbolizes a poignant acceptance of change. Set against the Balinese concepts of sekala (the seen) and niskala (the unseen), Andini beautifully explores how a ten-year-old grapples with loss and the complexities of grief.
