Joshua navigates life in a makeshift settlement with his father, a well-educated man who escaped the turmoil of Zimbabwe. Once a promising scholarship student, Joshua aspires to become a BMX champion, hoping it will pave the way to a brighter future beyond his father's small spaza shop. Tragedy strikes when he endures a brutal xenophobic attack, resulting in the loss of his beloved father and grandmother. Heartbroken yet resilient, Joshua must confront his shattered dreams and find a way to honor their memory while pursuing his passion for cycling.
