Riders in the Sky (1949)

Plot

Gene Autry recounts a haunting tale tied to the song "Ghost Riders." Just as he plans to leave his role as an investigator to partner with Chuckawalla Jones in cattle ranching, he chooses to assist Anne Lawson in exonerating her father, Ralph, who faces wrongful murder charges. Gene seeks three witnesses who can confirm that Ralph acted in self-defense against a gambler. However, they are intimidated by the ruthless town boss, Rock McCleary, who kills witness Pop Roberts Morgan. Before dying, Pop provides crucial information, prompting Gene to confront McCleary in a dramatic showdown.
