Plot

Children Underground delves into the harsh realities faced by five street children, ranging from eight to sixteen years old, who inhabit a subway station in Bucharest, Romania. As commuters go about their daily routines, these young survivors struggle to cope with hunger and homelessness. They resort to petty theft and deception, driven by their desperate quest for a can of paint to escape their grim existence through inhalation. The documentary poignantly captures their fight for survival amid the indifference of passersby, shedding light on a hidden world often overlooked by society.
