Plot

Senator William J. Tadlock spearheads a group of settlers on a challenging journey to establish a new community in the 19th-century American West. As a strict and principled leader, he often finds himself at odds with Lije Evans, a newcomer who struggles to adapt to Tadlock's harsh methods.
