A Brave Little Woman (1912)
Plot
Daniel Lyttell is gravely ill, but Doctor Bozel reassures Clara that the worst is over and her husband will eventually recover. In the dead of night, a burglar slips into the Lyttell home, making enough noise to wake Daniel. Clara hears the unsettling sounds and comforts her husband, encouraging him to rest. Curiosity drives her to leave the room and she soon finds the intruder. Rushing to call for help, she discovers the phone wires have been severed. Panic for Daniel washes over her, but she finds him sleeping peacefully. Quickly, she wraps herself in a shawl and dons a black veil before searching through a desk drawer. When the burglar confronts her, Clara stands her ground, boldly claiming she is also a thief, seeking some crucial letters. As he tries to enter the bedroom for his own prize, she firmly instructs him to stay put.
