Plot

Jin-yi, the daughter of a magistrate, faces heartbreak when her wedding is abruptly canceled after a shoemaker’s unrequited love drives him to suicide. Embracing her fate, she rises as a renowned courtesan, captivating many with her intelligence and beauty. Her heart, however, belongs to Byuk Kye-su, who is sent away as an envoy. Feeling betrayed by his departure, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Along the way, she encounters Lee Saeng, a struggling scholar, but upon learning of his intentions to sell her, she chooses to join a troupe of wandering clowns instead.
